Michael opened Olamaie August of 2014 in Austin, Texas. Over the last ten years, the modern restaurant serving interpretations of classic southern foods has gathered multiple accolades such as James Beard Finalist, Food & Wine Best New Chef, and Best Restaurant in Austin from The Austin-American Statesman. Upon opening a brick and mortar location of Little Ola’s, his pandemic pivot biscuit shop, he founded MaieB Hospitality. Today, MaieB Hospitality also operates Maie Day, a steakhouse, Redbud Icehouse, Gimme Burger, and the soon-to-open Albert Hotel in Fredericksburg, Texas. Michael has also been an integral piece of his community through the service he has done for local non-profits Forklift Danceworks, The Texas Book Festival, and The Paramount Theater, and nationally Share our Strength/No Kid Hungry.
