Paradigm Winery is owned and operated by Marilyn and Ren Harris. Marilyn, a Napa Valley native, and Ren, from San Francisco, met in high school in 1958 and married in 1965. Two years later, they sold their San Francisco home to buy a prune orchard in Napa, which they later converted to vineyard land. That sale eventually led them to their current 55-acre Oakville estate. 

At the time, Napa had just 11 wineries. The Harrises sold grapes to local producers until founding Paradigm Winery in 1991, producing estate-grown wines ever since. Legendary winemaker Heidi Barrett led winemaking from 1991 to 2024, leaving a lasting influence on the estate’s style. 

Paradigm focuses on Cabernet Sauvignon, with Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Zinfandel rounding out the portfolio. The organically farmed vineyard is managed by a dedicated full-time team. A 1% for the Planet member since 2002, Paradigm remains committed to sustainability and quality, crafting wines that are balanced, consistent, and built to age.
